Yes, recompile the exe file, including necessary dll's and remove the 1.12a check, so we can play 1.10 hi-res :)

Since there are no graphic changes from 1.07 to 1.12, what is the problem then?

I don't think you understand the gravity of what you are saying.

Basically, you are asking us to backstep all the changes of 1.11 plus the no-cd check of 1.12, then recompile an exe with source code that none of us have nor nobody that I'm aware of has actually recompiled the .exe let alone the entire shebangbang.

Also there were some graphical changes between 1.07 and 1.12, for instance 1.12 corrected a crash with Macs and OpenGL (or some other thing), and minor other things. And when I say minor other things, I mean these things tend to snowball and offsets can change by say, 10-30 lines at least.

Another issue with your 'solution' is that with 1.10/1.11 you would have to make way for D2Mod and Nefex because both of these hook to D2Gfx.dll. A lot of mods use these two plugins or another set of code edits (Eastern Sun, Zy-El, Blackened, Back to Hellfire, Rebirthe, Metalstorm, TFW, the list goes on...) and there would be conflicts.
Although done for our needs, mod-makers should like these changes, too.

I'm not going to speak for other people but for blackened its ok if there are conflists as we have our own high res stuff(though its limited to 1024x768 and also a wide screen mode). also D2gfx.dll isn't the problem(the part where is hook is applied is only one small unused section, plugy loads fine in 1.12 with multires), its the plugins that change graphics in d2client, ie: the waypoints plugin. also the exe is easy, as that never had source, it was a hacked 1.12a exe, so you can just change the ords and it'll work in 1.10, no-cd and all. also there where no other graphics changes that would affect this plugin, the problem is the way 1.10 was compiled vs 1.12a(VC6 vs some odd build of VC7), as the structure is different, so you'd need to rewrite the patches, and patching location plus chnage any D2 imports(if you really had time you could do this using sluggy's dll...), if 1.13 is ever released, I bet well see an update of this, but I doubt sluggy will ever release the source or do a backport

I'm getting an error when I try to start the game..

It's the dreaded UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005) crash.

I'm running Windows 7, using Direct 3D (Even regular D2 won't start otherwise), and had the crash around the same time I installed the Desktop manager Fences (I'd link you but I can't, Google it if you need information on it). Although it seems weird that they would conflict...

Regular Diablo 2 running in Direct 3D works fine, for the record. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game after getting the errors, but that didn't seem to fix anything.

Edit: Oh yeah - Running Lord of Destruction, 1.12a.

Edit 2: Got a bit more information on the crash, I hope it's satisfactory:

Upon reading the install file it says that the multires exe has to be used to run higher resolutions. Has anyone got this to work with any other mods, specifically eastern sun?

firstly, don't double post, use the edit funtion. secondly, this will only work on mods that work on 1.12, ES is a 1.10 mod

I don't think sluggy (creator of this tool) will do any new version.
But maybe there will be others.
I've read something about somebody else who will post offsets belonging to this. Maybe then there will be other version ;)

Dav92 write a D2mod plugin wich is far better than this imo :)

It allow you to play in 1024x768 or 1200x768. The big diffierence is that you can move and customise almost every aspect of the UI. And it's for 1.10. Have a look in the D2Mod forum ;)

Hey, could someone please upload the current 1.13c D2MultiRes Solution i would like to compile it with my own changes, thanks. The partial source code posted on blizzhacker is kinda weird with all of those stub pointing to nowhere. I also would like to load that externally (like modified D2Win.dll),

Searching D2Game.dll.pdb of version 1.13c and all the DLL's .pdb if you are an ex blizzard programmer throw me a pm !
