You will get them next time JrEye.

I am planning on a tourney that will be separate from the hardcore and softcore ladders. That tourney will be open to both SC and HC characters, but the SC will be following HC rules. That tourney will not be starting until 4.4 is out.

Stay tuned for news on that tourney.

wtf? How is that supposed to work, Hans? Do you mean that a SC character who dies cannot be played for the tournament any longer?

Something that would be neat is if we would play a tournament where a dying SC character has to sell or throw away ALL of his items (except the cube), including stuff he has in his stash and equipment that his merc has etc. and after that the character also has to throw off all of his gold. Then the character has to exit the game to make sure all the stuff is gone. He/she may then hire a new merc (but the old one may not be revived!) and he/she has to find new items by doing runs hoping for good drops. Of course, a naked sorc can still own everything with meteor but a barb will have problems to kill anything with his bare fists, but it's an idea. Maybe you like it. ;)

I think that might work for a SC only tourney.

Yeah went through a portal in Arcane and popped out dead, no real time to react either lol

Another Idea i had for a tourney would be something like running a 7 man team through where each needs to be in a certain range of each other. In HC once dead its dead and you race with the others. SS could be used but only between the 7 (do we have Mac players?).

I dont know Im up for any tourney once this is done and such

Hi, Hans.

I would like to see a tournament where the tourney moderator chooses (randomly) the character class (and maybe the character name?) for the participants.

I was thinking of adding some sort of randomness. I am thinking the character class will be random and you will only be allowed to use 6 skills in total (all randomly picked). The first skill will be picked and you will need to max that skill and 1 point into the prerequisites. The next skill will be picked and that skill will be maxed and 1 point into requisites if any. That goes onto all 6 skills have been picked and maxed. No random skill will be chosen twice. If a skill is picked twice a free reroll will be permitted. You can reroll a character class or random skill but it will cost you points.

I will have more info later.

In regards to running a 7 man team tourney that would require a lot of time and investment. That might be a good idea for a 1 year tourney and it would be HC only. All alive characters would have to be either in the same act or within 100 levels of each other. I think the 7 man tourney would not start until the new year.

Keep up with the suggestions.

You certainly have come up with some entertaining ideas for the next tourney. I would be interested to learn the outcome. I will be playing in the next set of tourneys, so keep a close watch on me.

:!: : I will yield to Hans on the makeup of the next tourney, but I do pull some influential weight around... be warned when the next tourney comes around. I might add some stipulations to the next set of tourneys in October.

Hans: Don't make the tourney too complicated. I commend your inventiveness, but :shudder: yikes!

In other words, once I replace my CD-ROM drive, my comp is fully operational. With that in mind, boys, come October...., as the Butcher says from the old DI days: "FRESH MEAT" :behead: :buzzsaw:

I will try to keep the tourneys as simple as possible. Mini tourneys can also be an option for players who do not have to much time to play.

Hi, Hans.

Another tourney idea that I have seen elsewhere is a treasure hunt. You know, find a "Harpoonist's" Harpoon, a "Weird" Bill, a Heart, a Head, a Leg, an Eye, ... ;)

There were a couple of different treasure hunts done with different mod's tourneys, so I'm just copying that concept. :)

Tazjhe: Some treasure hunts may be used for bonus points in some tourneys.

Yesterday GetAlT_II decided to give Nightmare difficulty a try and I'm really disappointed. The monsters seem to give even less experience than in normal difficulty... 8-O Does it get any better in later areas of NM or is it pointless to continue playing (I figured out that the latter will be the case if it's really impossible to get noticeable amounts of experience in NM)?

Hi, Gospodarik!

I would guess that you are too low of a level right now to get good experience in NM. IIRC, if there is a large difference between player level and monster level, the experience gained per kill is pretty small.

For me personally, I didn't go into NM until around level 900 :!:

I made a previous post (page 4 of this thread) which described my low level play experience.

Uh, really? But I seem to remember that Kato removed the decrease in experience gained if the level difference is >5??? So the monsters would actually need to always grant the same exp amounts... icon_puzzled.gif

I hereby close the first Zy-El Hardcore Tourney. I would like to thank all the participants in this tourney and to congratulate the winner Tasjhe.

Hardcore Tourney Season 2 has now started and it will go to March 31, 2008. Good luck to all and please post your updates at the Wiki or here.

You must start a new character for each each season.

Hans, assuming you want to end Season 2 in 6 months, the date for the end has been changed to March 31st, 2008. Let the tourney commence!

Well gone to lev 26 today and completed my first poster. Gonna take a brake here, have found out that Magic Arrow (the skill) whith poison Arrows works great...you never run out of arrows and you can shoot as a freak and spec at the thorn spiks and devlins.

Now at lev 40 and i have Tarnhelm and The Skystrike bow and use Magic Arrows (Bee Sting).

EDIT: Stall in playing for the moment as RL is too heavy right now. Gonna loos my job soon and try to get a new one isen´t easy. Then i play Virtua Tennis 3 right now.

Hope some other will join this tourny so we have a littel of a fight here
