Vampyres are a half-human, half-vampire hybrid. They are the brood of an
ancient, unholy experiment lead by an obscure order of Necromancers called
the Carhan. Vampyres are fierce predators in the realms. Commonly mistaken
with less subtle undead or for genuine vampires, they are in fact a stealthier
and smarter opponent. Vampyres usually meet in groups of 6 to 8, lead by a
female elder called the Rhagyna. They roam the land disguised as humans, changing
into their proper form when the situation requires it. They appear as beautiful,
charming young women, mostly with dark hair and pale skin. They generally wear
cloaks or capes in order to hide themselves.

Interestingly, all Vampyres were created as females. This lead the Carhan
sorcerers to provide them with large amounts of unwilling males to perpetuate
their kind. Their tribes are matriarchal orders where young vampyres are required
to defeat their elder in battle. After some centuries, an unknown event destroyed
the entire Carhan order, leaving the Vampyres and their other creations free
to roam the lands. Vampyres tried to survive but very few had successfully found
a proper mate in order to perpetuate the species. Their number has been in sharp
decline for decades and the elders have sent some young Vampyres out in an effort
to find a solution.

Wow! Now that is a really cool character class. I sure hope the other classes will have summons. Cuz, you know, I get kindof lonely when I don't have any minions. :(

this is unbelievable :!:
last night I was playing and thinking how good could be play as an vampire, then i came to the forum to ask some stuff's (like how make 'night stronger' and 'day penalty' skills), look in the Search to be sure and then i find this post :P
and yours ideas are complete :D and very good also.

An suggestion: this guy could be very good as an blood Children of the Night maybe can be 'La Magra', since he is red and have Big claws and a Bite atac (in the screen you cant see, but he is full of spines!!!)
other one: maybe you can add an ranged life steal skill (aura or missile) like the 'blood armor' in the 'blood omen - legance of cain'
i can wait to see the firsts screenshots

Some suggestions.

Blood Fountain :
To me, vampire's kinda prideful, and cannibalizing corpses're for some low level mindless monsters like ghouls, so you might as well change the description to something like this :
"Forces blood to violently squirt out of the victim's body, forming a beautiful fountain of blood and heal all nearby undead minions/allies."

Allure :
Perhaps you can change it to "Draw out the Beast".
Draw out the Beast :
"Frenzies the victim, makes it attack random target with increased strength while loses health constantly."

OR

Since charm is an inherent ability of the vampires...
Charm : With the same description as Allure.

Necrosophy : I think "Necropsy" is the word you want.

The rest sounds very cool.

Nice rewording.

For me Drawing out the beast was more self centered no ?
CAD";p="154459" wrote: Necrosophy : I think "Necropsy" is the word you want.
Necrosophy : knowledge about death and dead in general.

If the Kindred feels that he's going into frenzy, he can force his beast on someone else, thus making the target go into frenzy instead.

No problem. I'm kind of a Vampire the Masquerade freak. Been thinking about making a vampire-mod myself, but I haven't been modding anything yet. I've been stuck playing mods :)

I'm looking forward to test this mod, I was impressed with your work with CW, but I think this will be better.

Those icons look great! 8-O

How about having a passive skill that gives a % chance to cause open wounds? Nothing quite like watching your enemies spurt blood all over the place!!

seems like the Vampyre ought to have a skill (maybe a natural skill of the preditor form) that works like frenzy, the more people you kill in a short duration the faster you get and the more damage you do.

[Character] - The Shaelora

Post by Joel » Sat Feb 21, 2004 1:49 pm

Shaelora/Moon Priestess by Laz :)

MOON SPELLS TREE :
==============

Moon spells get 50% more damage when cast near enemy spellcasters.

COMET
Fires a projectile with a long trail, that goes through enemies but explodes after a set distance, causing AoE physical damage in a +-5 yard radius.

MOONFIRE
A stampede of flares with short blue trails, that pierce and inflict cold damage on impact.

STAR POWER (PASSIVE)
Increases the damage bonus moon spells receive when you are near spellcasting enemies

VAPOR TRAIL (PASSIVE)
Adds damage to the trajectory of Comet, so that it does damage when it passes over enemies. Damage based on the skill level of your Vapor Trail spell, not the Comet spell.

STARBURST
An constant barrage of stars that inflict cold damage. When the stars hit, they emit a circle of 8 of the same stars, doing a fixed amount of damage that starts very low and never goes up (the Aurora skill increaes it).

REFRACTION (PASSIVE)
Enhances Moonfire by making it so that when a Moonfire flare hits, two flares are emitted to nearby enemies. The damage of these extra flares is based on your Refraction level.

RAVEN FLIGHT
Ravens come in, hunt enemies, fly off screen again. Does physical damage, and follows you through its duration like an armageddon.

AURORA (PASSIVE)
Increases the damage of the secondary stars emitted by Starburst. Damage based on Aurora skill level, so NOT a percentage of Starburst damage

WRATH (PASSIVE)
Improves Raven Flight by making the ravens steal life for the caster. Life steal is a fixed value based on level of Wrath.

STARFALL
Drops a shower of stars on all surrounding enemies, doing magic damage.

RITUALS TREE :
===========

NEW MOON
Heals x mana over a short tim, but decreases spell damage by 50 percent for its duration.

MOONSTONE: RENEWAL
Moonstone that when you kill a monster gives all allies near the dying monster increased life regeneration for 5 seconds after the monster's death. Extra points improve the moonstone, sunstone style.

MOON STANDARD
Summons a ward from a corpse, it emits an aura that increases the number of minions the party can summon. Stacks with Overlord Aura and Archierus, of course.

OVERKILL (PASSIVE)
When you cast a Moon Spell within 4 seconds after killing a monster, it gets stronger.

MOONSTONE: MIRAGE
Moonstone that when you kill a monster gives all allies near the dying monster an etherealize state for about 5 seconds, greatly reducing physical damage taken but increasing elemental damage taken.

BAD MOON RISING
Decreases enemy resistances to elements for 4 seconds, but decreases spell damage by the same amount.

RENASCENT STANDARD
Summons a ward from a corpse, it emits an aura that makes it so that when a minion (yours or others) dies, everyone gets a buff for two seconds, that allows them to summon a more damaging one.

MOONSTONE: SUPREMACY
Moonstone that when you kill a monster gives all allies near the dying monster increased physical damage by a set value for 5 seconds. Most useful in a party with shadowpriests and templars, but the feyling's own minions also benefit from it.

MOONSTONE: CONQUEST
Moonstone that when you kill a monster gives all allies near the dying monster physical and stun-thorns for 5 seconds, so that monsters that hit them are stunned and take damage.

BAD KARMA STANDARD
Summons a ward from a corpse, it emits an aura that causes party members to regen mana faster for four seconds after being *struck* by enemies.

SUMMONING TREE :
=============

When you kill a monster, for the next 4 seconds you get a buff that allows you to summon 1 extra minion.

WILL-O-WISP
Ghostly minion that self-heals over time (5 seconds) when struck.

EVANESCENCE (PASSIVE)
When a Wisp is attacked, there is a chance that it turns ethereal, giving
physical immunity but double elemental damage. Added points increase the duration.

MANA FUMES (PASSIVE)
When a Wisp dies, there is a chance that it explodes, leaving a small immolation fire and emitting a large flame nova that inflicts fire damage and stuns surrounding enemies.

FAYD
Small faerie minion that teleports enemies around on striking

WING CLIP (PASSIVE)
When a Fayd is attacked and there are only (enemy) non-spellcasters nearby, there is a chance that the attacker is stunned and has its armor reduced.

GIFT OF LIFE (PASSIVE)
When a Fayd attacks and there are only non-spellcasters around, there is a chance that a nova that heals the party is emitted

FORMAL SUMMONING (PASSIVE)
Enables summoned minions to use the effects of the Moonstone(s) you carry at increased strength, which increases with skill level.

FAERIE DRAGON
Flying rainbow minion that temporarily turns invulnerable when struck.

MANA FLARE (PASSIVE)
When a Faerie Dragon attacks an enemy and there are spellcasters around, the attack adds some magic damage and emits a nova that heals the mana of the party

SHATTER (PASSIVE)
When a Faerie Dragon gets killed near spellcasters, it emits multiple rainbow colored novas that do magic damage.

How about the barbs' "Find Potion" skill that only gives healing potions? Kinda like bottling your victims blood so you can use it later

Maybe a passive skill that gives a small amount of life leech? Cause a character like this is gonna chew through the life points
