it seems like there are alot of nice interesting casters and ranged characters in the new class list, but there doesn't seem like there would be much in the way of interesting melee fighting from what I've seen of the skills of the classes you have up. Hope it doesn't stay that way. Best part of the game is fighting for your life in close quarters.

Well it's kinda sad to read my two favorite mods-in-production got canceled. But from what I've seen so far this mod looks really great so that merger might actually be a good thing :)

Quick question: will this mod be compatible with closed servers?

Yes it will. SE structure is far more simple for closed server to handle.

the work on the mod just started, i doubt that they can set a release date yet. and maybe it will never come out *evil smile to joel* :mrgreen:

*shrugs and falls over* I dunno but......Im just hoping a new version of diablo wont screw things up again >.< 1.10 made it so i cant play 2 other mods and the ones makin em dont seem to work on em no more (damn you blizzard. KARATE CHOP!) Joel.....if theres ever a 1.20 or whatever...and u stop.....im gonna take a dump in your front yard. ^.^ Btw sounds like an awesome mod. Goodluck with the process.

Three quarters since the last reply, heh.

Anyway. It would be helpful if you'd put up a rough guideline of what to expect about the mod, you know. You don't have to go crazy and jot down every single detail, but knowing stuff like characters being replaced and why would help make sense out of the mod.

Many people who drop out of the scene for months and pop in to see all these shiny new mod announcements, well, I dunno, it gets kinda hard to get enthusiastic when there's just a title and a few character stickies. At least tell us what the mod is about. I remember all too clearly the numerous mods which died after bouncing a few ideas around.

Or if there's a link outside the forums which I missed, put it up here too. Many people just bookmark the forums, it's easy to miss if you put something on the keep but not point to it from here.

Footnote. Say, not long from now the original Diablo game will be a decade old. I don't think there's gonna be another sequel (D3) since the coding team left, and I don't put much stock in suits running the show. Too many game companies folded already.

well : check out the screenshot thread sfor details. basically :

new storyline, new char class skills redone, all new maps items and monsters . Diablo II is no more than a shell for the project to grow in.
the actual storyline will be revealed soon.

Well hmmm then :D the 15 act system will be used for this one too and prolly a new on going expansion system.
