As I have bought a mac laptop, I will get into modding d2 for mac as one of many side projects.
What c++ tool is to prefer use on mac?
also what other modding tools do you use on mac?

Re: What dev tool do you use on mac?
Your best bet is likely to be Clang using one of the nice cross-platform IDE's like QT Creator, VS Code or CLion (or old school vi, emacs). There is a Visual studio for Mac, but its very different to Windows VS.
XCode is horrendous for iOS dev, let alone D2 dev. TBH, just use bootcamp and dual boot, or VMWare/VirtualBox.
