Problem using MPQ2K

I've done all the steps in the idiot's guide, except the 5th.

After copying all the files (uniqueitems.txt, uniqueitems.bin, patch_d2.mpq, install.txt, install.bin, patchstring.tbl and mpq2k.exe) I try to run install.bat but it says that I'm missin' LMPQAPI.DLL, where can I get that file?

That file comes with mpq2k. Look at what you downloaded, you should have four files: mqp2k.exe, staredit.exe, storm.dll (not the d2 release version) and lmpqapi.dll. All four files need to be in the same folder for mpq2k to work.

Tnx alot! the prob was the name file, it's called listfile.dat instead of lmpqapi.dll.

Now I think I'll go and try to make a mod

ouch, I'm certain than renaming a txt file to a dll will crash mpq2k.
