New Elite Class Specific Sets

Post by KroniK » Sat May 10, 2003 10:14 am

Okay guys, I post this information on the forum instead of on the website, because the homepage would otherwise fill up too quickly, because this is quite a list.

Hel's Sting (Assassin)
- Hel's Fury - Runic Talons
- Hel's Wrath - Scissors Suwayyah
- Hel's Shadow - Loricated Mail
- Hel's Soul - Amulet

Bragi's Sentry (Druid)
- Bragi's Vision - Dream Spirit
- Bragi's Case - Shadow Plate
- Bragi's Mighty - Glorious Axe
- Bragi's Unity - Troll Belt

Thor's Legacy (Barbarian)
- Thor's Rage - Guardian Crown
- Thor's Might - Sacred Armor
- Thor's Pride - Colossus Girlde
- Thor's Bash - Ogre Gauntlets
- Thor's Swiftness - Myrmidon Greaves
- Thor's Thunder - Thunder Maul

Skadi's Teachings (Sorceress)
- Skadi's Affinity - Spiderweb Sash
- Skadi's Chill - Blade Barrier
- Skadi's Fiery Orb - Dimensional Shard
- Skadi's Wisdom - Archon Plate
- Skadi's Luck - Demonhead

Odin's Safeguard (Palladin)
- Odin's Crown - Corona
- Odin's Protection - Lacquered Plate
- Odin's Redemption - Legendary Mallet
- Odin's Courage - Vortex Shield

Loki's Craft (Necromancer)
- Loki's Skull - Bone Visage
- Loki's Study - Hellforged Plate
- Loki's Revenge - Bloodlord Skull
- Loki's Strength - Legend Spike
- Loki's Disbelief - Vampirefang Belt

Freyja's Call to Arms (Amazon)
- Freyja's Aurora Borealis - Diadem
- Freyja's Sanctuary - Boneweave
- Freyja's Skill - Amulet
- Freyja's Sisterhood - Mithril Coil
- Freyja's Aim - Grand Matron Bow

Phew, that's it guys, at lease for now. The rarity of all of these items is reflected in their power, so these sets are well worth collecting. To further emphesize their power, the required level of these sets is minimally 125, and for some of the most powerful armors, this can go up to 200!

Do you by any chance read the Everworld series? I have noticed that some of your sets have some gods that are in that book, such as Hel, Loki, and Thor. Just wondering, and the names look great btw.

Well, Valhalla is a Norse-Themed mod, so I actually took my Age of Mythology manual and looked up the names of all Norse gods and I just named the sets after the god that in my opinion fitted best with the classes.

Not to be too off-topic but you forgot about Hel's brothers, the wolf (Fenrir I think) and the huge sname (maybe midgar). Loki is Hel's father :) .

instead of making it +5 to Shadow Master, you should make it Shadow Warrior, unless you have changed Shadow Master's skills, cuz Shadow Warrior uses the skills you use, and shadow master used mind control thing[annoying..]and the thing that makes it go all black, remove the black effect from that spell, and just make the enemys like surrounded in like clouds, or else its mostly no one will use this armor..

Well, actually, the point of a minion like a Shadow Warrior/Master or even Valkyrie is to just be a tank, a meat shield. Something that can take as much hits as possible without dying. For that, the minion needs to have a lot of life, and Master has a lot more life that Warrior. And besides, even if you do not take this property in consideration, this armor is still very good with the other magic properties.

Kronik--I disagree strongly with you there. Shadow masters, and shadow warriors, for that matter, are much more than meat shields--they're also really effective fighters (unlike the Valkyrie, who's only real redeeming point is how many hits she can take).

And Morgan? More people use Shadow master than warrior. I prefer warrior, but I only use warrior for martial art assassins. I use master for trappers because she has the full range of assassin skills available to her and is a more effective sidekick for a trapper--and even though master annoys the hound out of me, she does a very good job taking some of the heat off me and killing things--she kills just as well as my assassin does and she can take about three times the hits my assassin can.

yep. Valks are just good for distracting and all, but shadows and others (wolfs and grizzlies) can actually help you in a fight. I liked to goof off with my assassin and keep casting shadow master near enemies so when they die to be re-summoned, they send out a nova spell.

btw, who is that in your avatar?

Well Akurah, I actually realised that when I playtested the sets. But either way, I like the Master a lot more, since she can use all of the Assassin skills, which makes her a much more effective killler. And as fas as that Mind Blast thingie ... it actually saved my life in The Chaos Sanctuary on Hell. So to conclude, the Shadow Master bonus stays
Anyway, you're gonna love the other sets. I did some serious testing, and I think I found a good balance in all of them. If you'd like to see some more stats, please PM me, and if I get enough response, I'll post another full set here ;)

EDIT:
Haha hihi, my Necromancer, Theonus, just collected the entire Loki set, to celebrate this glorious event, I'll post the full set stats here, and also because some people actually PM'ed me to post another set here.

Loki's Craft:

Loki's Skull - Bone Visage
+ 200 Defence
- 5 to Light Radius
Regenerate mana 30%
Regenerate life 20%
+ 2 to Poison and Bone Skills
All Resistances +25
Socketed (3)

Loki's Study - Hellforged Plate
200% Enhanced Defence
+ 2 Defence per Character Level
+ 2 to Summoning Skills
+ 5 to Skeleton Mastery
+ 5 to Golem Mastery
30% Faster Run/Walk
Requirements - 50%

Loki's Revenge - Bloodlord Skull
200% Enhanced Defence
50% Better chance to Block
+ 2 to Curses
+ 5 to Amplify Damage
+ 5 to Iron Maiden
All Resistances + 50
+ 100 Dexterity

Loki's Strength - Legend Spike
300% Enhanced Damage
Ignore Target's Defence
60% Faster Cast Rate
+ 5 to Poison Dagger
+ 5 to Bone Spear
+ 5 to Bone Spirit
15% Life Stolen per Hit

Loki's Disbelief - Vampirefang Belt
+ 100 Defence
+ 10 to Maximum Resists
20 % Faster Hit Recovery
+ 5 to Poison Nova
+ 5 to Corpse Explosion
Regenerate Life 20 %
+ 25 to Strength

Partial Set Bonuses
250% More Gold from Monsters (2 items)
200% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (3 items)
+ 500 Defence (4 items)

Full Set Bonuses
All Resistances + 50%
+ 3 to All Skills
+ 200 Defence vs. Missile
+ 200 Defence vs. Melee
Cannot Be Frozen
30% Mana Stolen Per Hit

There ya go, Loki's Craft, the Necromancer's wet dream :). I'll have to warn you though, due to the already high skill levels and the extra skill bonuses from the set, the curses have a massive radius, which may cause lag on slower systems. You might also wonder "Why the +100 Dexterity?". Well, that's because the Necromancer needs a lot of Dex in order to get a decent Block Chance, especially at higher levels. If you have any other questions/remarks/suggentions/requests, please post them here, and I'll reply ASAP.

I have the perfect solution, why don't you just make it +6 to shadow disciplines  :P
