I don't get it how to install dark alliance

I downloaded the dark alliance.exe thing without music now, but don't know how to get it working, oO

Already "installed" it but it's somewhere where my d2 isnt even installed :O

Then you run the installer you can choose to install DA in a custom folder.

Easiest is install it in a folder inside your Diablo II installation.

Now, this isn't necessary to actual run DA.

After installation all you need to do is to run LaunchDarkAlliance.vbs

Note: you can always manual move the installed DA to your diablo II directory if you want that.

I had some kind of error :-P I'll now reinstall d2 and then install dark alliance again, maybe it works now :p

Do you have 1.10 patch installed? Dark Alliance isn't compatible with 1.11 patch.

It also require dark alliance to be installed into a subfolder (as example: DiabloII\DarkAlliance. Then you use the LaunchDarkAlliance.vbs script.

I can't use patch v 010 anymore because I already have 1.11b and it tells me I cant downgrade

You need to go onto blizzards ftp site and download the 1.09 game.exe stub, put that in your d2 directory and run the 1.10 patch

use the version changer from my signature
easy way to change between 111b and 110

unrar it to your d2 folder and run the version-changer.bat

Have you been able to start up DA anytime. or do you get error first time you startup?

another way to get it working :

Put all the Dark Alliance content folder in the D2 folder by replacing them.
After run the normal Diablo II.exe.
Make sure you have a backup of dll, patch.mpq ...

At least it work for me

This is time consuming, it far easier just to use the script, and this way or the script way won't solve that crash...

@Giaour: make sure that the 1.09 game.exe isn't still there after patching, it will run but cause problems

The script dosent work for me, so it was the only reason to get it working.

its probably because you don't have windows script host 5.6, or your security settings are blocking it. You should be able to run it in -direct mode if you can't get the script to work
