I'm pleased to announce a new mod project, by ChaoticDeath:

Corrupted Death

- thinking of changing some skills (need suggestions but already have a few ideas)

- monster life x8, exp x8, dmg x4 (the reason why damage isn't x8 is because when i was testing i ran out in blood moor as a paladin and died in 1 hit from a zombie :( )
- more to come when ideas strike ;)

Here is the storyline.

It has been a while since mephisto, diablo, and baal were banished back into the burning hells. The lesser evils were destroyed, and the world was at peace (for once). But there was one thing that even the Prime Evils did not know. One of soulstones had still not been destroyed. This was the Ultima Soulstone. It was about 4x bigger than mephisto's soulstone. This soulstone had the power to contain all the evil that had been banished once before. But once it reached it's limit it would break, and all hell would break loose with it.
Many years had passed and one day the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye had hunted down a bandit and killed him. Now this was the last straw for the soulstone. It had broke, and all the evil that was once banished or
destroyed was revived. But the power of the soulstone had gave the monsters new and improved power. However, the humans back on earth were not lazy couch potatoes. They worked hard and had some new improved armor and weapons to fight against the evil.
This time everyone, the humans and demons, knew, that this war would be the last. Good would take over the Earth and rule forever, or we would have a dark Earth, covered in fire and demons. The fate of the earth is in your hands....

edit: How is that for the storyline? Yes or No?

Hey guys. I need help with item names. If you have any item names you want to share and be in this mod, I will do my best to put it in there. Honestly, I'm starting to run out...
Also if you have any runeword ideas, please post them. All ideas will be very useful, I can assure you. Thx in advance. ChaoticDeath :saiyan:

edit: If you also want a certain feature, i may implement it if you tell me what it is.

Storyline is cool, I have to say Yes :)

As for the item names, go to the Mod Concepts and Research Forum. Maybe you will find something of interest there (in posts or links to other websites). If not, you can always start a topic in there, see if people can contribute with some item names.

Hey guys, i got a great idea for my mod. I will make a new item, and it will be flamethrower. it will be a ranged weapon, and it won't shoot anything, but has a 100% chance of inferno on attack!

Sweet! Though am I correct in assuming that in order for it to work, it'll have to fire an invisible, damage-less projectile? Or is chance to cast on strike different from chanc ot cast on attack?

No, it will do damage. It will be like a long stream of fire. Should I make it charges so that they are like ammo? (Except not expensive to repair)

what you should do it make it so that you have gas tanks (simular to a stack of arrows) that has an amount of ammo in it. That way you would only have to buy 'gas tanks' to use it. cause IMO having it charges would make it just like inferno... and less like a flame thrower.

Also i good idea i got for this mod while i was reading about the flame thrower is something like a gernade/rocket launcher... same idea as falem thrower but have it shoot would say 20 arrows with 2degresse seperation so it looks like a rocket then just have it as rockets(arrows) and molotalve(is thats spelt right) cocktails which would be throwing potions with low drop rate, expensive repair and high damage... but those are just a couple things that might go in good with the flame thrower... completely up to you though

Good idea! I was also thinking about putting in an electric gun, which shoots lightning(obviously). It will slowly drain your ammo, but you could fire and endless stream of it.

Yeah, light (icy :twisted: ) blue would be very cool. Just use a pallette shift, I think.

Idea Strike! Invisible Cloak! You can go invisible, not seen by monsters except bosses, but at the expense of a high life and mana drain. Therefore limiting your time wearing it.
edit: (holy crap, if i keep this up my mod will go back down to 1%! just kidding. but seriously, i think i'll move it back down to 9%)

quick comment on the constant attack...
it will be dificult to do this unless you make it look a lil off by making it very fast attack... but then you got the problem of having it look 'over lapped' if you will.

and the lightning thing, make it faint gold with alot of white(or green looks good with the gold) up to you though.

one more thing, i do like the haste of which to reply to all the comments made, makes talking about the mod alot easier cause you dont have to wait several hours to check if there is a reply.

what constant attack are you talking about? but yes, i do like the constant response. unfortunately, this week i have exams :( but no matter, if i do good on them i get to miss the final exams the last week of school and basically get out of school a week early 8) (i have been studying)
edit: hey, olorin and firefrog, since you guys seem to like my mod so far, (i hope) check out my topic in mod concepts and research, and post some item names that you guys have.

Very nice.

Yes getting constant fire is a problem.

If it's chance to cast, then your char fires, cast, then fire.

It'll be a stream of flame, arrow, a stream of flame. :(

Well actually, i was going to have the flamethrower not shoot anything, except for fire. it would have ammunition that would drain slowly (off to hex editing which i know almost nothing about) no matter, my uncle knows everything about hex editing (he had to do it for his job)

One thing: be very careful with x4 damage, you might need to do a lot of rebalancing. While regular monsters will be manageable, bosses (especially the extra strong/cursed/aura enchanted with might or fanaticism) will be frustrating one-hit kills. While having one or another in the game keeps things interesting, having each and every boss killing the character in one blow is too much IMO.

You can alter the skill multipliers and abilities of unique monsters/champions with a little code editing. This info can be found somewhere in old posts at the Code Editing forum, you may want to check that out when the time comes ;) With that, you might for example reduce the effectiveness of Fanaticism, Might, Extra Strong and Amplify Damage on unique monsters.

New Skill Ideas! :D I have 5 for the barbarian, necromancer, sorceress, and paladin so far. Also four for the amazon.
Here they are:

Sorceress
-Nova armor (when hit, sends out six tiny balls NE,NW,W,E,SW, and SE, which then explode and send out a nova there.)
-Ice hydra ( a blue colored hydra that shoots ice blasts)
-Burning Orb ( like frozen orb but is red and sends out fireballs to do fire damage)
-Charged bolt armor (just like lightning enchanted monsters)
-Blazing Circle (surrounds the target in a circle of flame)

Barbarian
-Chakra ({Passive} regen life + mana)
-Frozen Fear ({War Cry} sends out a frost nova which freezes monsters)
-Electric Shock ({War Cry} Sends out a powerful electric Nova)
-Flaming Touch ({War Cry} Sends out fireballs in all directions)
-Super Exercise ({Passive} Adds more life and mana to max)

Paladin (he is NOT overpowerd ;))
-Ultima Blade (+%dmg, +%att, +%faster attack speed, +fire dmg, +cold dmg, +lightning dmg, +poison dmg, +magic dmg.)
-Ghoul Blade (steal Life% and Mana%)
-Astral Blade (100% chance to cast meteor on attack)
-Riva's Life ({Aura} regen life and mana, +%defense, +%att)
-Nature's Blessing ({Aura} Adds fire, lightning, and cold damage to attack)

Necromancer
-Terrify ({Curse} freezes enemy in place)
-Teeth Nova (sends teeth out in all directions)
-Soul Stealer (Bone Spear that steals life and mana)
-Super Revive ({Not sure if possible, notify me on this} Revive super unique monsters ex. Blood Raven)
-Darkness Life (Sideways Bone Spear High poison dmg)

Amazon (not yet completed)
-Icy Arrow (guiding arrow that freezes :))
-Poison Virus (arrow that explodes on impact and does the poison explosion effect)
-Multiple Shot for Javelins (Throw more than one Javelin at a time)
-Flesh Piercer ({Passive} add steal life and mana)

(Thought up of all of these at school ;) while we were waiting for everyone else to finish their exams. Early out today :))

If anyone has any ideas for the druid or assassin please let me know. I am thinking about allowing the druid to transform into Diablo though :twisted:
