Advice about mod ;)

Post by ChaoticDeath » Fri Apr 18, 2003 2:28 am

In this thread you can post advice for other players to read and consider. Please do not post any spoilers (runewords or unique ul;timate items recipies).

Thank you. And now since I am the only one with the mod in possesion at the moment, I will give some tips.

- If you are looking for crafter items, I suggest going to the cow level. You will find many crafter rings there, and some crafted items can prove to be very powerful.

- If you are looking for high level runes, I suggest going and killing the cow king. In this mod you can still open the cow level even if you kill the king. Today I was testing a little bit and the Cow King actually dropped a Lum rune 8-O 8) .

Thats it for now ! If you have questions about these, post them here :).

it was in hell mode. and the runes are in the same order as in LoD. I just increased the rune drops .

edit: the Cow King just dropped two Ohm runes. And a normal cow dropped a Sur rune. So you guys just might find some rare runes ;).

Here's my advices:
Please make some way other than the cow level to level up to high levels. Cow level just gets boring, repeatative, and very redundante after a while.

And also make the big mf bosses (meph, pindleskin) more difficult to kill, and also more profitable, because mf runs are just too easy, and I'm sick of finding 10 Isenhart's case, and 6 tancred's spines.

there are basically no sets dropped from Mephisto, and he is very strong and hard to beat. He drops almost everything as uniques.

the cow king dropped another high level rune for me a second ago, and it is nice to know that we will actually be able to get runes .

@Rattlecage: Good to know that I am pleasing the public :).

Very cool stuff, I cant really tell which the Viper Shield is geared towards, a Fighter (10% Leech) or a Caster (20% mana regen). Nice job! ;)

Wow, that Bec-De-Corbin looks very powerful! Will it be a strong weapon in the mod, by the way you're planning it? Or will it be balanced in a way this will be a sort of regular weapon?

it will be above normal, magic, and even some rares. so yes, this could be a very good weapon.

Either bump up the exp of hell cows, or consider making a sort of suicide level, such as in zy-el. A place with insanly high level monsters that are insanly hard to kill and give high exp and drops, for people with characters 150+. Craftable jewls and charms would be nice as well

well suicide is jsut an expression, as long as u have a high character with good dmg it should be possible.

Hm I killed Baal in Hell 2 minutes ago and I didnt even need a Full Rejuv Potion... but I died for the first time in the whole game at the areat plateau ... damn ancients :) But I think u really should raise the Monster HP in hell its just too easy with players 1 since I figured out that meph is able to drop gods judgement in nm ... After a few runs the rest of the game was a piece of cake 8)

sorceress was very very easy using burning orb and nova(whatever it was changed too) and static feild for the monsters with high hp. Btw is their a reason i can get act bosses to a sliver in hell with static feild? i thought it was a 50% cap in hell?

Yeah i still am a sorc  really simple skill points maxing like in lod :) max nova max lightning mastery max thunder storm max frozen orb max warmth + shiver armor + mana shield + static for bosses and stuff ... im too lazy to look for the skillnames of the mod but that is how my sorc is build all skills maxed + items = lvl 46 right now :D
Static also worked very good for me just tried it at meph still works... but then i entered players 4 and well... static didnt work anymore 8-O

And pleeeaasse dont change sorc skills in next version i dont want to rebuild her again... damn it that would be a whole day of playing :D I wanna get a zon or a pally with mod adjusted skills so that i can use that load of items for them
