Inactive Mods

Post by Myhrginoc » Mon Dec 08, 2003 4:49 am

A number of mods have been inactive for quite some time. There are many reasons why a mod effort might not continue: real life issues, lack of interest, recognition the goal is too elusive. In keeping with our policy of encouraging continuing development, I have locked down all threads with no posts entered within the last three months.

If a mod maker returns to a project after a long hiatus, please PM myself or Alkalund to have the thread reopened.

The year is already a third over, how time does fly by! And so do some mods, unfortunately. I have locked the threads for the following projects due to lack of recent activity. As mentioned above, if a modmaker returns to a project here, please PM one of us to reopen the thread.

Operation Sucuide Mod

Faith in Sanctuary: Purity

Rage of Ancestors

Slayers Diablo

EDIT 05.23.2004

I have received a PM from Underkor (Rage of Ancestors mod):
Hello !
After a long silence i speak.
The development of the mod is suspended due to two reasons:

First, my pc harddrive is full and i have removed all the games on it including Diablo 2 too.Always student i dont have the money this year to buy a larger HD .

Two, my studies are successful but not over.I prepare the exam to become professor in mathematics then i don't have the time to think about the mod.
So this mod will remain in limbo, but perhaps his schedule will permit him to return in the future if he is still interested. At least he still thinks about it.

We have now entered a new quarter, and several mod mod threads have been locked down due to inactivity or closed projects. Here are the latest casualties of real life and modmaking blues:

Diablo II: Unleashed Evil (closed by modmaker request)

Ethereal Echoes : The Realm Beyond

The Realm of Chaos: Order

Apocalypse - The 5 Waves Of Chaos (on hold by modmaker request)

Khan The Destroyer (closed by modmaker announcement)

As always, we will reopen any locked project thread if the modmaker PMs us to request it.

With great regret, I have locked and stowed the forum "Tactics Central", as it has been about nine months since we last heard from Fireheart. As usual, if a modmaker comes forward to resurrect an inactive project, we will be happy to unlock a thread or forum.

We have two more mods which we haven't heard about in several months. If these projects are restarted, just contact one of us to reopen the thread.

The Waffle Mod

Vanguard: Master of Arms 2 (on hold by modmaker announcement)

And this just in:

Zallambo’s Enhanced World (ZEW) Mod (on hold by modmaker announcement)

Two more mods have appeared on the Inactive List. We haven't heard from Mausus Atlas in a long time, and we have had to lock and stow his forum. In addition, Modmaker has requested we close his thread for the Final Age Mod.

Once again it is time to round up the stragglers. We are sad to see Embodiment of Power and Mythical Fiends fade into the shadows, but we know other things can put modding on the back burner. Please let us know if any of these projects gets a new breath of life.

A few more mod prospects have died with their mesh boots on. If these projects are restarted, just contact an admin or senior moderator to reopen the thread.

Hell's Revenge (download available in the File Center)

Rage of Ancestors (once resurrected, but dead again. Website still up, has download)

Resident Evil

The Cult's Revenge

And at sPoT's request, we have locked The Defile until he can return to his project.

It is time again for my semi-periodic roundup of projects we would have liked to keep hearing about. One more mod is lost in the Kurast Jungle. Possibly the sign of the game's decline (if maybe temporary): fewer mods are proposed here so fewer are disappearing.

Another quarter has gone by, and a few more efforts with them. We haven't heard any progress reports from Goldjas, Zaelar or sPoT in quite some time, so I am locking down their threads. It is always a shame to lose a project in development when it gets to the downloadable stage.

:(

The 4 Horsemen

Runesmith

The Defile goes down again

If any modmaker returns to a project after hiatus, please contact any senior staffer and we'll unlock it.

Another quarter has slipped us by, and several more projects appear to have slipped away as well.

Prophecy is not technically dead, it even has its own forum. But Anson appears to have decided he didn't need two conversations and this thread has been quite inactive.

The Cult's Revenge goes down a second time, as superdylan2002 appears to have been really busy for a long time.

ekkoper must be besieged by vampires, for we have not heard about his Welcome to the Hellmouth mod in an eon or six. Another project takes a second dive.

As always, if any project gets new life, please contact one of the senior staff to reopen the thread.
