Unable to Identify Version? HELP!

I did all that was told thu the readme, and the game runs fine with the mod, but when I switch back to my regualr diablo shortcut, and try to log onto Diablo it says cannot Identify the version.... Why is this?

To be honest I don't know why this happens and I get the same problem.
I guess it is to do with Battle.net checking to see that you have the correct dll's etc.

To fix it, copy the Blizzard dll's and mpq files back into the root D2 driectory.
