So far the only thing I see is the "Invalid questinfo for item" triplet. Are you using the scripts I provided, are you starting -direct -txt, what other conditions do you have going in? I do know there is a bug with the custom code and the -txt switch (I crash on second game too, but I get an Unhandled Exception in D2Common when I do). But you seem to get clobbered earlier on.

When I run without the -txt switch, I can enter any number of successive SP games.

I'm using the 110-launchTFW.vbs in an alternate folder. would 1.11 help?

edit : it does seem odd but crashes are way less likely in window mode.

and for the record, we both use directx 9.0c on 2 an ati and an nvidia.

I am not sure what you mean by "alternate folder". The mod is intended to run in a subfolder under your default diablo ii folder (the one the Registry entries point to). If you have 1.10 in the default folder, use the 1.10 script. Use the 1.11 script if you have 1.11 in the default folder, but make sure you have a 1.10 version of game.exe named game110.exe in the default folder as well.

Hey guys, I have a little bit different problem. I am running it in a subfolder, in my 1.10 folder, and useing the 1.10 script. Now when I ckick the script to start the game all is well, game fires up just fine, all the way to char select sreen. However, when I select a char and hit ok the game just locks up :x , and completely freezes my pc :( . So, I reboot and look in the tfw folder and there is no log or anything to say what happened 8-O . The only thing I get is 1 file in the save folder with the chars name.

I want to give this a try so any advise or help is very welcome

That is a new one on me. If I have trouble loading a game, it is usually bad character or bad inventory, and I get some kind of message when that happens. Have you looked at the debug file D2yymmdd.txt in your Diablo II directory? (The Blizzard debugs don't write to mod directories, regardless of which script you use. I should add that to my job list...)

After it has happened, does it allow you to create new characters? It sounds like you might have a corrupted download or files. And yes, please be sure you do not allow new bin file generation (e.g. select NO on the script question, don't have -txt in a shortcut).

Ok , I think it may be a bad down load. I did a total reinstall last night, patched up to 1.10, and put the mod in its own subfolder. I started it up with the 1.10 script got to select char screen and bam same thing happened(pc froze). After I rebooted my system I checked the log and the only thing I saw was, an access violation, location D2common.dll. Which is the exact same thing it was doing before I reinstalled.

If you need more info from the log plz let me know asap. My D2 pc isn't online so I'll have write it down and then type it here the next day. If you do need it, how much do you need, ie: how many lines above and below the error?

If it is an assertion error, I need only this much (to start with):

Assertion Failure
Location : D2Game\ITEMS\Items.cpp, line #3796
Expression : ptTC

A few assertion errors occur in several places...if your error was one of these I would ask for more information.

If it is an unhandled exception, I need about this much (only give me at least ten lines of stack dump):

20:10:41.986 ***** UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005)
20:10:41.986 Fault address: 6FC5B038 01:0002A038 D:\Diablo_II\D2Game.dll

From your posts, I believe it is the latter type. I know this is a lot of information to type in, so the easiest way is to use a floppy to transport the debug file and then cut/paste from Notepad into the reply box here. You needn't worry about code tags, as some of these lines are too long and code blocks don't scroll sideways.

I am not suggesting this is the case, but please be sure you aren't using something like a no-CD loader or other unexpected helper. I will not exert any effort to make the mod compatible with such things.

Ok, will do when I get home tonight, and edit this post in the morning.

Nope, just plain jane store bought LOD cd,

EDIT: Well guess what, I ran out of disks  , so I'll have to go buy some.

However I think I just have a bad down load. I tried to reinstall the mod last night and got this:

Error Opening File...
C:\Program Files\Diablo II\FWT\tfw.xdl

Followed by: Could not extract 1 files

So, should I try another dl or would you still like to see the error log?

If you downloaded the self-executable, it should have placed all necessary files in the right places. If you extracted the mod into the same directory you were using before, the extractor was trying to put a new copy on top of the old copy. But you don't need a new copy of that file, so try running the mod as is.
