Hi. Well, I think I made an account just for this, but I encountered a very annoying bug: my sorc's life went very low, becouse life gained from levels (life per level) unexpectably stopped to apply. I was doing anya on normal (lvl 37 only), when I noticed I was going to die and looked at my lifebulb. It had gone from 1.2k to about 100, only base life and life from items were remaining. I had a defensive barb merc I hired recently.

I don't use any kind of hacks/third party programs and I'm using LoD 1.12 with latest ES version. I have tried everything: got level, died, exited game and rejoined, talked to healing npc, re-allocated my stats.. I get life per lvl, but the life from previous 36 lvls are missing.

Any solutions, or should I just start over?

Well, I'd think your problem is that ES is for 1.10 not 1.12. Only other thing I'd check is, make sure you're not wearing MERC only items. They'll drop your life to 1. Make sure you're not holding two of any +1 to check item. They too will drop your life to 1.

I'm not wearing merc items nor two one-only charms; and as you said, they drop life to 1, not to like ~100... The version might cause the problem then, I though ES is compatible with 1.12..

On that, my guess is that you're using wrong version. Here is a direct quote from the ES Wiki.
"Question: Nothing happens when I launch ES
Answer: First, please make sure LoD 1.10, 1.11 or 1.11b is installed. A mod isn't a stand-alone game, and needs the original game installed."

To my understanding, you can use 1.11 with ES, but the launcher reverts it to 1.10. Something to that effect. Nor any of the features of 1.11 will be available. So in essence it's really pointless to use anything higher than 1.10. Back up your saved game folder Diablo II/es300r/save. Reinstall D2 back to 1.10 or revert using the files here on the keep. Give it a try with 1.10 see how that does ya. Best of luck.

When using the ES launcher the game will load the 1.10 files needed to play.

Run the character convert program hopefully that will fix the life issue.

I see, lowering patch to 1.10 didn't help.
As i got ES R6 and character convert program (the one which came with es) converts only R5 -> R6, it can't load my file. Unallocating stats don't help either.

Strange thing is, that I found one backup for my character, but when I loaded that, "life/level" didn't go back to what it was that time (~10 lvls earlier), there was still only the base life bug.

Thanks you anyway yurmy and Hans. That's not a big problem, I just wanted to share this with community since I haven't see any bug like that earlier.

I've encountered a really odd bug today: I had 7 rare jewel points in my rerolling orb, and after finding the 30# scroll, I tried to get a unique jewel, but it only gave me a rare one :(

I did double-check to use the scroll, and that I had rare->unique selected. Is this a bug, or did I forget something, somehow?

The level of the unique you get is equal to the character level, so if you do the cubing with a lv 46 character, then you can only get a Junjudun or an Ideal Craft jewel. If the level of the char is 44 or less, then you can't get ANY unique jewel and you'll get a rare instead.

Huh, I had no idea about that, good to know. Thanks, Nameless.

Does that apply to other rerolling things, like rings/amulets? Does the rerolled unique ring/amulet depend on character level as well?

Generally the level of the resulting item depends either on the character level or the level of the input item. The ES Database usually lists this information in the recipe.

I ran the Countess several times and had to note, that the chest isnt always dropping anything...
On Normal the chest dropped something after beating the Countess for the first time, every time I ran her again, it didnt. Almost the same on Nightmare, although it dropped more often... And sometimes the Countess herself doesnt drop anything :/

Is this just me? Or is there some kind of bug? Or am I doing somethign wrong? ^^

Im using latest ES version installed over clean D2LoD 1.12 on WinXP Home SP3.

The chest only opens when you complete the quest, in other words once per difficulty. If it still opens after you complete the quest it's bugged. It almost never drops anything worthwhile anyway...

Ah, ok, didnt know that. But yeah, then I think its buggy anyway ^^ Cuz Im quite sure, it opened other times than only when I finish the quest... ;)
Ill look over it again and tell you, if it really opens other times :)

Huh, I thought that the Countess' chest bug only happened to me :P

I've a bug to report, probably an old, already-reported thing: I had my druid reroll a rare druid-specific amulet with the rerolling orb, and I could wear it for no apparent reason. The class and level were right (druid only amulet for level 34+ chars, and my druid was 42), so I'm not sure what to do about it.

Any ideas?

I cant see any chance to really reproduce that "bug" :( But it still drops something after I finished the quest, but I cant exactly tell when and under which circumstances that happens :/ Happens to both my Sorc and my Barb...

Ever wonder why summoners have a low kill count?

I found this bug while playing my summonmancer -- kill counter doesn't go up if your minions make a kill; but if your *mercenary* makes the kill, the counter goes up.

A relatively new D2Mod killcounter was released last month that also counts the kills of your minions. Check it out here: viewtopic.php?f=133&t=57003

Admiral I think it might only work on windows player since in the first phrase he states it is tested for d2 mods system version 1.03. So it looks like it uses dll.

I think that someone else had a plugin that worked for d2mod 1.02.

I've already made a note on the Community Patches section of the Wiki, but I have noticed that Shuriken does not seem to adjust synergy bonuses to the actual damage listed on the tree and speedbar, but the LCS in this case doesn't lie and does report the actual damage reflected. This is probably a display error?

That's what I am probably thinking. The damage boost is unlisted, but works.

edit 1: Literally. All you do see is the AR% bonus. You do get damage bonus from points in skill too, but that as well isn't listed.

Another oddity I have witnessed that has occured in singleplayer:

When I was using my amazon and an Act 3 Lightning mercenary, I frequently use Dance of Death. Whenever my merc uses Lightning Hydra, the moment my DoD finishes, his hydras disappear, as if the hydras have "timed out". I have yet to test this with Whirlwind to see if the same result is achieved.

1/18/11 UPDATE: The same thing has been achieved when a Paladin uses the Holy Shield skill. After the cast, all hydras disappear.

I have heard about that issue with Act 3 mercs and Lightning Hydras. I just do not remember if it was with DoD or with Whirlwind

also, no matter how many points you add to Cyclone Armor, Winter Fury's listed cold duration remains at 2, even though graphics show otherwise, i.e. 3 points gives 5 seconds but the duration is listed as 2.
