All right, here we go. I am going to give you a step by step documentation of what happened.

1) Erradicated my previouse instalation of Diablo II.
2) Did a clean instalation of D2 LoD.
3) Updated D2 LoD to version 1.10.
4) Installed CCMv3 as per the instructions in the "Instal" file.
5) Loaded D2 and got the CC title screen.
6) Selected the Barbarian, named him "Mr_Beef" and clicked OK.
7) The game started to load and crashed giving this message:

Diablo II Error
Assertion Error
Location : D2Common\DATATBLS\LvlTbls.cpp, line #826
Expression : Error in DRLG related to stairs that connect levels


So Dr. Volf, what seems to be the problem?
Could it have to do with the fact that I installed the expansion set?

I figured I should post this here too because it's the bug thread.

Whenever I select a character and try to load the game it crashes and gives this message:

I know I'm not the only one who has this problem because I have seen it in at least in at least one other thread but I didn't see any solutions.

Al of my mods only work with english wersion of expansion and 1.10 patch, the do not work with d2 classic.

Last time i saw that error it was because a non english version of the game,, so i made a nother version of ccm3 for players with non english version of the game, you can get it here http://www.volf.biz/filez/CCM3.mpq%20english.zip
I lerned from that mistake so CCM4 works with any language version of the game.

I have the english(american?) version of LoD so that isn't the problem.

I do think I figured out what I did though.
I had my mod shorcut set to " -direct -text"

I have not tried it yet but will inform if that helps.

CCM4 is not a -direct -txt mod its a patch version so just start it with your normal shortcut without -direct -txt ..

If your looking for a dropmod to get items for you normal characters then CCM4 is the wrong choice, insted use CCM1 or 2 for that.

Well first off i would like to say Thank you for making such a great Mod it put my faith back in to D2..So anyways my problem is i followed your instructions on how to set up for self muleing i do it the way you say to but i open my first game get it ready to go by hosting a game and then i go to click on the second icon and nothing happens i double click it and no loading happens...so im just wondering is there some thing i did or what? all help is appreciated....

Make sure one of the shortcuts point to game.exe instead of diablo2.exe

btw: This is not a hack forum, you should read the Terms of Service link under Tyrael's image.

Mostly meant for single player and tc/ip games, some do say they have got it to work on open but with the edited dlls i doubt it works on open.
