In fact, I already felt some reminicent of RO in TSC/TTD ;D

anyway, here goes a crash log for your new alpha mod:

Mage, lv5, Ice Cave (near Jail entrance)
while attacking a champion zombie with socketed spear(2*topaz and a emerald)

here's D2 log: (there was no NefEx log for this time)

Code: Select all

20:18:16.921 Stack Crawl:
20:18:16.921 Address Frame Module Return Stack
20:18:16.921 01dc1026 00000001 D2Game.dll D2Game!Ordinal10006+30486
20:18:16.921 Stack walk error: 0
20:18:16.921 1 frames dumped
unfortunately, I couldn't make the crash again.

Hello Lucia, glad to see that somebody else besides Badger and I are looking at GAQ's new mod.
I have always got a Nefex log everytime I play, so I am confuse by your saying no log. The log is in the Rag folder and can be cleared by double clicking Tidyup. It's not called a log.
Look at my diatribes. I still have computer freezes even after patch 5 and 6. They did clear a lot of them, but there are some left.

Greetings again, I'm so glad to see you again!

Actually I have a Nefex's log, but it says 20:23:28... (my D2 log says 20:18:16) so I thought it can't make sense.

[strike]btw.......... was there a Patch 6?! (I was using 5 at that time)[/strike]
edit: oh my, I was blind, it was on PK main page
I'll try p6 when I get home (about... 7 hours after)

Opps!!! I forgot this. I believe this will solve most of your problems per GAQ
Move the file called 'animdata' from Ragnarok/data/ to Ragnarok/data/global/

I already did it - that's why I downloaded Patch 5 instead of 6; I've just scanned this forum and downlaoded Patch 5 at a normal post (not announcement or PK main) Anyway thanks for your help and quick response ;)

Thankies for the errors to look into!

Sorry guys, but I've got some RL stuff to do for early January, so unless mass procrastination steps in I doubt I'll be doing much to the mod. Although, I feel it is necessary to release a patch which puts the files in the correct places. I might push all the fixes into one file, which will be a new 'base' download. Which will remove any bugs occurring due to my mistakes when releasing the first alpha.
I choose my physician and my clergyman, thus indicating my sense of the quality of their work. By all means, also, choose your modmaker; that is the proper reward of the good modmaker, to be 'chosen.'

edit:
Oh my, I'm stuck!

I'm now in act 2, and getting the staff and the amulet... but a problem has popped up while getting the amulet. When I pick up the amulet, it looks like it is automatically equipped instead taking its place in my inventory (since I have no jewelries in ring/amulet slot, right?) - and I can't unequip it or get additional one (it's quest item!)
Something strange here; I tried to pick up a white ring(which came in progress of rescuing cain) on ground without opening inventory window, and it was not equipped...

Anyway, I'm running a couple of client and trying get this additional amulet. (I want to advance to act 3!)

edit again:
I retrieved the amulet;
1. gamble a white amulet (63k golds)
2. die once
3. equip the white amulet (drop it and pick it up) and retrieve the corpse.

somewhat weird, but at least I can go to next step.

That amulet stuff looks serious, I know it can be fixed for new characters (just shove a white amulet on them at startup,) but for older characters it will require some more work.

EDIT:

I believe I've found the cause of this 'rarer' crash and fixed it.

Secondly, for now I've set the level requirements of the amulet at 99, so you won't accidentally equip it.

Finally, you can't equip rings, white rings can simply be sold. I might change the name and increase the sale value if I can't get them to stop dropping completely.

nice work!

btw, a display issue with an equipped amulet:
album_page.php?pic_id=2700

not a major one, just I don't like THAT amulet which made a trouble :D

edit: er, you set rqlvl of all amulets to 99, then existing amulets would be affected? (if so, I can unequip that nasty amulet by dying once!)

Yes I can make all amulets lv 99, but that might not make your amulet level 99. Can you not 'pick up' that amulet from your 'inventory', if not you might have to look into character editors :(

Had a good modding night today, alonside some bug squashing, I have implemented Concentration, Awakening, and Berserk potions. I've made a slight change to RO by making Concentration, etc. herbs which can be used, but are weaker than the potions. You put three of these in the cube and then make the potion, which lasts the full 15 minutes!

Accessories have also had some work done on them, with higher grades of accessories implemented. :)
